"Video Mods" Creator Big Bear Entertainment Gets $550K

Tiburon, Calif. - Big Bear Entertainment, a creator of animated music videos -- also known as "Video Mods" -- has raised $550,000 in a first round of funding, PEHub.com reported, citing a regulatory filing.

Investors included El Dorado Ventures and Optix Pty Ltd.

California-based Big Bear Entertainment produced the animated music videos seen on the MTV2 series "Video Mods," which blend animation for games with animation for television.

Its creations have featured characters from games including "Sims 2," "Unreal," "Mortal Kombat," "Sonic" and "Crash Bandicoot."
