San Bruno, Calif. - Google's (NASD: GOOG) YouTube video site on Wednesday introduced updates to its application programming interfaces (APIs) that will allow developers to integrate videos from the site into other applications, and showcased implementations from TiVo (NASD: TIVO), Electronic Arts (NASD: ERTS), Animoto and the University of California.

The new API services will allow external developers and partners to create applications that upload videos and video responses to YouTube; edit user and video metadata; perform custom queries and fetch localized standard feeds, such as Most Viewed, for 18 international locales; and customize the look of the YouTube player itself.

TiVo's deal with YouTube will allow access to videos directly from the TV via a broadband-connected TiVo Series3 digital video recorder.

Users will be able to search and browse the site, as well as log into their YouTube accounts through TiVo.

Electronic Arts will allow gamers to capture videos of the creatures they create through its upcoming game "Spore," while Animoto's service lets users create personalized music videos from their own photos and upload them directly to YouTube.
