Framingham, Mass. - LiveWire Mobile, a unit of NMS Communications (NASD: NMSS) that provides managed personalization services for mobile operators, announced on Tuesday that it has acquired Groove Mobile, a provider of mobile music delivery services, for $14.5 million.

Massachusetts-based Groove Mobile has raised $32 million in financing since launching in 2002.

The company has partnerships to provide mobile music download services with 12 mobile operator customers, including Sprint, 3 UK and Bell Mobility, and has secured licenses from all four major labels.

LiveWire Mobile, which distributes ringtones, ringback tones and other wireless products, said the acquisition will allow it to offer customers an integrated storefront that also offers full-track music and video downloads.
