Sunnyvale, Calif. - Retrevo, the developer of a service designed to help users find, buy and use electronic products, said on Thursday that it has secured $8 million in its second round of funding, co-led by Alloy Ventures and Norwest Venture Partners (NVP).

The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company said that it will use the proceeds for product development, partnership expansion and consumer marketing.

Vipin Jain, the CEO of Retrevo, said that his site "aims to become the site that consumers can trust to get all their electronics products information in the simplest and visually intuitive forms."

Retrevo's technology helps consumers find products with the best community sentiment, then shop for them by value.

It also helps consumers decide when it may not be the best time to buy, such as with high definition DVD players.
