Tokyo - Japanese video game publisher Capcom announced that it will acquire fellow game developer K2, creators of the "Tenchu" series.

The all-stock deal, in which K2 shareholders will receive 201,720 shares in Capcom, is expected to close by the end of the month.

Capcom, whose titles include "Resident Evil," "Street Fighter," "Mega Man" and "Lost Planet," said the deal will "make it possible to allocate development resources more efficiently in response to shifts in market conditions."

Separately, Capcom said on Monday that it has acquired the exclusive worldwide rights to publish official games based on the MotoGP motorcycle racing circuit, through 2012.
