Game Developer Realtime Worlds Lands $50 Million

Dundee, Scotland - Scotland-based video game developer Realtime Worlds has raised a $50 million third round of financing led by Maverick Capital, TechCrunch reported, citing a source with knowledge of the deal.

Founded in 2002, Realtime Worlds has created titles including "Crackdown" and its forthcoming "All Points Bulletin."

Its founders were also responsible for creating titles including "Grand Theft Auto" and "Lemmings."

The company previously raised $33 million in 2006, from backers including New Enterprise Associates.
