New York - Undertone Networks, a premium online advertising network and unit of Intercept Interactive, announced on Monday that it has received a strategic investment from JMI Equity.

Financial details were not disclosed.

Founded in 2002, New York-based Undertone operates an online ad network with partners including ESPN.com and Discovery Communications.

The company said the funds will help it accelerate product development and research, and further expand its presence in U.S. and international markets. It currently has offices in seven major U.S. media markets.
