CBS Radio to Stream Station Feeds to U.S. Last.fm Users

New York - CBS Radio (NYSE: CBS) announced on Tuesday that it will provide streaming of all of its 140 radio stations on Last.fm, the social music service it purchased for $280 million last May.

CBS will launch a new player in the spring that will let Last.fm users in the U.S. access online versions of stations such as New York's WCBS-FM, Los Angeles' KROQ, Chicago's WXRT and Atlanta's WVEE.

Last.fm users will see the songs they listen to on CBS Radio stations "scrobbled," so that they may be added to playlists, and recommended to friends.

"This is the first of what we hope to be many collaborations between CBS Radio and Last.fm," said Last.com CEO and co-founder Felix Miller.

"The content and distribution power between these brands is incredible, and we're tapping into that strength to greatly expand our digital footprints while significantly improving the user experience on all our platforms."

Last.fm has a similar agreement with BBC Radio, while CBS Radio has a similar streaming deal with AOL.
