The Director, Product Management, is responsible for
the product and service roadmap across multiple product lines to drive
current business growth and create new product offerings.
This passionate, hands-on individual will combine deep knowledge of customer needs with a keen awareness of market and competitive landscape to define and build leading online music products and services. Responsibilities: • Define product line strategy and roadmap, and drive organizational alignment and project prioritization • Own product requirement definition and feature identification for future music service products, including documentation of prioritized feature sets for upcoming music services • Develop and manage market sizing, market and competitive analysis, online product/service definition and product positioning within market segments, and business plan formulation and forecast for the assigned set of products and services • Lead brainstorming of creative solutions and problem-solving to balance product deliverables and resources with business needs and market window opportunities • Develop an overall music market understanding, including a strong understanding of customer needs, competitive analysis, secondary market research and analysis, and primary market research and industry assessment • Internalize and represent the voice of the customer to the team throughout the product lifecycle • Evaluate and translate customer data into product/service definitions and product marketing plans that anticipate customers’ current and future needs • Partner with Project Management, Marketing, Engineering, and User Experience teams to drive product/service definitions through the product development process • Build and develop a world-class product management organization focused on customer-driven innovation • Build relationships across product lines and functional groups to ensure organizational alignment Position Requirements • Five to eight years product management or product marketing experience required, preferably with consumer-facing software and/or Internet sites/applications. Experience with consumer segment recurring revenue business models a plus. • Minimum five years experience building and managing product management or product marketing teams and/or lines of business • Demonstrated ability to build consumer products (ideally consumer-oriented websites) and ability to build a successful organization combining a strong blend of management, technical, creative, business and marketing talent • Proven history of bringing multiple new products to established and emerging markets based on unmet customer needs • Experience working in a data-driven environment, ideally with quantitative research experience • Excellent organizational, statistical, strategic thinking, problem-solving, analytical, written and oral presentation skills; intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency expected • Must be resourceful, self-motivated and able to be successful in a non traditional entrepreneurial team-based environment • BA or BS degree or equivalent, MBA strongly desired • Good natured, sociable, creative and diligent individual who is driven, detail-oriented, and dedicated • Individual should be passionate about music!
