New York - NBC (NYSE: GE) has announced plans to launch original webisodes in July for some of its most popular TV shows, including "Heroes," "The Office," "30 Rock" and "Chuck."

"We're incredibly lucky to have such collaborative writers, producers and actors to work with, all of whom help us make the entertainment experience so much richer for our users," said Vivi Zigler, EVP of NBC Digital Entertainment.

The webisodes will "continue to weave online with on-air creative to give fans a deeper entertainment experience," the network said.

For "30 Rock," NBC will offer "30 Rock 360," a set of interactive features where fans can read Jack Donaghy's blog, submit skits for "TGS," and upload videos of themselves enacting provided skits from "TGS."

The network will also launch an original Web series, "Fears, Secrets & Desires," where users will submit stories on such topics and selected posts will be produced as online videos.

Variety reports that the deal recently hammered out between striking writers and producers helped pave the way for the new foray into webisodes.
