Los Angeles - News Corp.'s (NYSE: NWS) FOX Networks, the company's international ad network, announced on Tuesday that it has acquired a majority stake in Utarget, a European ad network that specializes in online video and counts over 600 U.K. websites among its members.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

FOX Networks said the unit, which will be renamed Utarget.Fox, will work with the Fox Interactive Media Audience Network to pursue ad relationships with News Corp sites and other third parties.

Utarget developed a self-launching video player window, which starts playing an ad automatically only once the window comes into focus. The company also offers traditional pre-roll ads, contextually-targeted subsites and mobile video ads.
