Nominees Announced for 12th Annual Webby Awards

New York - The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences on Tuesday announced nominees in over 100 categories for the 12th Annual Webby Awards, which recognize the best and most important sites on the Web.

The New York Times received the most nominations overall, claiming 16.

Other nominees among the websites, videos and ads of the year chosen by the Academy's 550-person panel of judges included "I Got a Crush on Obama" (Viral Video); I Can Has Cheezburger? (Humor and Weird); and Passive-Aggressive Notes (Weird).

Winners will be announced on May 6, and honored at two ceremonies in New York City: The Webby Film & Video Awards on June 9, and The Webby Awards Gala on June 10.

Additionally, the public may vote from today through May 1 on The Webby People's Voice Awards. A full list of nominees is available from a link below.
