Ustream.TV Lands $11.1 Million for Web Video Broadcasting

Los Altos, Calif. - Ustream.TV, a provider of Internet video broadcasting services, announced on Thursday that it has raised $11.1 million in its first round of venture capital financing, from DCM, Labrador Ventures and The Band of Angels.

Since launching its service in beta in March, Los Altos, Calif.-based Ustream.TV said it has registered over 260,000 broadcasters, including Presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain, and entertainers Johnny Knoxville and Chris Brown.

Its users are currently broadcasting 8,000 to 10,000 live shows each day, and the company already counts over 2.2 million unique monthly visitors.

Ustream.TV will use the funds to accelerate product development.
