Buddy Media Raises $6.5 Million for Social Net Apps

New York - Buddy Media, a developer of social media applications, announced on Wednesday that it has raised a $6.5 million second round of financing, led by Softbank Capital.

The European Founders Fund, GreyCroft Partners, Ron Conway and 14 of the company's previous investors also participated.

New York-based Buddy Media has developed applications such as Pub Darts and Pirates vs. Ninjas, as well as a brand loyalty reward currency called AceBucks.

The company also on Wednesday announced the launch of an online ad network, which it says will help connect its clients -- which include Microsoft, Priceline.com, FedEx, Time Inc. and the Huffington Post -- to top developers of social network applications.
