Vancouver, Canada - Strutta, a site that hosts video-based competitions, has raised $1.2 million in financing from GrowthWorks, Telefilm Canada and angel investors, NewTeeVee reports.

Founded in 2007, Vancouver-based Strutta's site hosts various competitions where users submit video entries and other users judge them.

Players with the most 'wins' in a year qualify for a chance to compete in the firm's "Final Games" and be awarded a virtual trophy that can be added to blogs and social network profiles.
