Dulles, Va. - Following a year of revamping all of
its major programming channels, AOL (NYSE: TWX) said that the sites in March hit all-time
highs in terms of both unique visitors and page views, according to data from
comScore Media Metrix. During the month, page views on AOL’s programming sites
grew 28%, and are up 35% from a year ago.
Unique visitors also climbed 11% from a year ago to 56.5 million.
"Our strong growth is a direct result of rebuilding each and every one of our vertical web sites over the past 12 months," said Bill Wilson, AOL’s executive vice president of vertical programming.
Wilson added that the improved numbers, along with the company’s recently launched Platform-A advertising unit, "gives us a great opportunity moving forward to monetize our increasingly highly engaged audience."
According to comScore, almost every major AOL vertical site has climbed in page views year over year, led by Body (760%), Home (475%), Food (319%), Living (241%), Moviefone (192%), Latino (165%) and Sports (148%).
