Rumblefish is a sonic branding and music
licensing agency. We enable our business and entertainment clients to
harness the emotive power of music to more effectively grow their
companies and tell their stories.
The Rumblefish Director of Music Supervision will serve both the sonic branding and music licensing sides of the business as the resident music creative and expert. The Director’s main responsibility is establishing a clear vision for the Rumblefish catalog and advancing steadily toward the realization of this vision. This “vision” entails: • A point of view/philosophy about what musical qualities are most important to Rumblefish as they related to our clients’ needs • A clear definition of what the catalog represents • A set of criteria by which the music in the catalog will be evaluated so that quality can be maintained while the catalog grows significantly This will inform the building and ongoing stewardship of the catalog and ultimately will enable us to serve clients better (i.e. help them tell their stories in a more compelling, more emotionally engaging way). The effective description and presentation of the catalog fuels: • the usefulness and search-ability of the Rumblefish Music Licensing StoreSM (MLS) online platform • the expertise of Rumblefish as a tastemaker and source of high quality music among the synchronization licensing marketplace • our ability to locate highly emotive songs for Sonic Branding clients, marketing activities and other critical business functions Required skills / experience / perspective: • Encyclopedic knowledge of music—from Baroque to Bird to Beirut • Critical thinking, deep curiosity and a get-things-done attitude • Network and rapport with reputable artists and labels • Basic experience as either a musician, music producer, music supervisor or music critic • Management experience a bonus • Desire to take ownership, be proactive, and entrepreneurial • The ability to hire, motivate and lead a team • Ability to play music a bonus Do not apply for this position if you do not: …believe that you are, or can become in short order, world-class at the aforementioned position …have a genuine passion for music …have an interest in being disruptive, entrepreneurial and innovative …enjoy hard work Web Address (Optional) : http://www.rumblefish.com/ Email Address for Replies (Optional) : jobs@rumblefish.com |
