InvenSense Lands $19 Million for Mobile Motion Sensing

Sunnyvale, Calif. - InvenSense, a developer of motion sensing units for mobile consumer applications, said on Monday that it has raised $19 million in its third round of funding, led by new investor Sierra Ventures.

Previous investors Artiman Ventures, Partech International and Qualcomm Ventures, as well as Foxconn, Inventec Appliances, Skylake Ventures, DoCoMo Capital and the VentureTech Alliance also participated.

The company, which has raised $38 million to date, said that it will use the proceeds to expand its sales operations and introduce a new family of motion sensors to be used in such products as 3D games and gesture-enabled mobile phones.
