Valley Stream, N.Y. - Zodiac Interactive, whose interactive TV software has garnered the company an Emmy award, announced on Wednesday that it has sold its Zodigo mobile content search engine through a management buy-out led by Matt Johnston, formerly Zodiac SVP of strategy and CEO of Zodigo.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Zodigo is very mobile centric and requires a team that can focus specially in this area, which is quickly becoming one of the fastest growing markets in the world," said Zodiac founder and COO Alex Libkind.

"We launched Zodigo as a subsidiary just a few months ago, and we're pleased the company has already reached this point."

"In order for Zodigo to be truly successful as the prominent source for mobile content discovery, it needs to be a complete entity and focus solely on the mobile content sector, which is huge and continuing to grow rapidly," said Zodigo CEO Matt Johnston.
