Sam's Club Launches E-Recycling ProgramAuthored by dmw on May 2, 2008 - 11:08am.
Sterling, Va. - N.E.W. Customer Service, the Sterling-based provider
of extended service plans and buyer protection programs for consumer
products, said that it has launched a new online electronics recycling
service for Sam's Club. The program, known as ecoNEW, allows
members to get rid of small to medium-size electronics in exchange for a
gift card. The amount of the card is determined by a trade-in value
generated through the program's web site. The program accepts LCD monitors,
digital cameras, PC desktops and laptops, gaming systems, MP3 players,
camcorders and printers. Even if the product does not qualify for a trade-in
value, the program still accepts the product for recycling and provides a
pre-paid shipping label. Electronic equipment that is received will be
reconditioned or recycled, with some items sold into the secondary or used
market.
