New York - The Associated Press (AP), the New York-based news wire, on Monday debuted its Mobile News Network, a multimedia news portal targeted at wireless users, particularly those with Apple (NASD: AAPL) iPhones.

The company, in fact, said that the Web application has been optimized for use on iPhones, and can be accessed either through the AP's website or the iPhone Web application pages.

The network features more than 100 news publishers at launch, and features not only breaking news, but also multimedia content such as photos and video coverage.
