San Mateo, Calif. - dotMobi, a provider of Internet addresses for mobile phones, said on Friday that it has acquired the technology assets of Mowser, a developer of mobile Web browsing technology.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

dotMobi said that the technology, an engine developed by Bay Area mobile pioneers Russell Beattie and Michael Rowehl designed to adapt content from PC websites to mobile websites, will help it to expand its mobile content creation offerings aimed at businesses.

"When Mowser's founders decided to make the assets available, dotMobi was first in line to acquire them," said James Pearce, dotMobi's vice president of technology.

"Being able to add that technology into dotMobi's product line is exciting because it will exponentially stimulate mobile content growth."
