- Electronic Arts will acquire Rupture, a games-focused social network launched
by Napster founder Shawn Fanning, for $30 million, according to a report from
TechCrunch, which cited sources with knowledge of the deal.
Rupture offers an
online social network for players of multiplayer online games, including
Blizzard's "World of Warcraft."
The company has to date raised around
$3 million in financing from investors including co-founder Ron Conway, Joi
Ito, Reid Hoffman and Baseline Ventures.
