Zune MP3 Player Market Share Up to 4%; Creative Drops to 2%

Los Angeles - Microsoft's (NASD: MSFT) Zune digital media player gained a bit of the MP3 player market share in NPD Group's latest rankings, now accounting for 4% of the total market, up from 3% in the first quarter of 2007, Wired.com reported.

The Zune has now sold a total of 2 million units.

Apple's (NASD: AAPL) products still dominate with 71% of the market -- down from 72% a year ago -- while SanDisk (NASD: SNDK) claimed 11% and Creative 2% in the first quarter of the year.
