San Francisco - Experience Project (EP), the developer of a social website that lets users anonymously share the stories of their life experiences, said on Tuesday that it has raised $3 million in its first round of funding, led by the D.E. Shaw Group.

The San Francisco-based company, which has more than 1 million user experiences documented on its site, also previously received funds from Maples Investments and Baseline Ventures.

The site, which launched in public beta in mid-2007, also allows users to connect with other members who have shared similar experiences.

EP was created by Armen Berjikly, who initially developed an online support community after learning that a friend had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
