New York - Universal Music Group has signed a deal to license its catalog to Deezer (formerly Blogmusik), a France-based, ad-supported music streaming service, Billboard reported. Deezer paid an upfront advance and will also pay a minimum per-stream fee. The service now offers close to 1 million songs, and has also licensed Sony BMG, Because Music and Believe.
