Doppelganger is a San Francisco based venture-backed entertainment and media company that designs and produces immersive virtual world environments.

Our first product "The Music Lounge", is a 3D entertainment platform where music fans can experience new levels of self-expression, community, and rich media programming. Some of our partners include Interscope Records, Universal Music Group, Warner Entertainment, MTV, and many others. The Music Lounge was named by C|Net as one of the top 5 products at the 2007 "Under the Radar" conference, and Doppelganger is a member of the "On Hollywood" top 100 private companies in digital media and entertainment list.

Our team is a fun, professional, ambitious group of architects, animators and engineers with a solid track record of success at companies like BEA/WebLogic, Sun, Inktomi and Electronic Arts. We're looking for more hard-working folks like us to share our passion in shaping the future of music and interactive media.

We are seeking an exceptional engineer who enjoys working in a wide variety
of aspects of 3D immersive applications, from low-level OpenGL optimization
to high-level AI for NPCs. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver and
is stoked by the diversity of problems available in a start-up environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with and develop new core aspects of our MMO game engine.
  • Maintain, streamline and improve existing aspects.
  • Work with Art Team to ensure the proper balance between aesthetic and technical concerns.
  • Employ solid software engineering practices to ensure high-quality,
    maintainable/extensible code and predictable schedules.
  • Contribute to the development of a top-flight engineering team and successful company.
  • Work in both C++ and script, in 3D and in 2D.

Desired qualifications:

  • Passion for Game Development.
  • Several years of commercial experience developing realtime 3D environments.
  • Previous experience creating games and working with game engines a big plus.
  • Smart, congenial, open-minded, productive.
  • Excellent C++ programming skills.
  • Experience with the Torque Engine in specific is a plus.
  • Solid OpenGL or other realtime 3D graphics experience.
  • Solid general windows programming experience.
  • Mohawk.
  • Comfortable with Agile development culture and test-driven development.
  • Experience with scalable distributed system design/implementation a big plus.
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field.

People with the above qualifications pretty much all have good jobs,
but we bet ours is better.
