Brooklyn,
N.Y. - Outside.in, the provider
of a Web platform for neighborhood news and social networking, has raised $3
million in a round of venture capital, which included investments from Union
Square Ventures, Milestone Venture Partners, New York City Investment Fund,
Betaworks, and a group of angel investors led by George Crowley.
Outside.in
said the financing will fund the continued development of its online
applications.
On Tuesday, the company also named Mark Josephson as its CEO.
Josephson previously served as president of Seevast Corp. and general manager
of About.com.
