Cary, N.C. - Video game publisher and game development tools provider Epic Games announced that it has acquired Utah-based game studio Chair Entertainment Group for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 2005, Chair has developed a number of games built with Epic's Unreal game engine technology, including "Empire" and the Xbox Live Arcade title "Undertow."

North Carolina-based Epic, whose titles include "Gears of War" and "Unreal," said that Chair will maintain its focus on creating new original games that utilize the Unreal Engine.
