Shanghai, China - Chinese online game operator Shanda (NASD: SNDA) has been sued for around $14,000 by a player who blames the company for the loss of 31 virtual items that have disappeared from his account over the past year, Pacific Epoch reported, citing a post by People.com.cn.

Referred to by his surname in the complaint, Wen claims that he has spent around $30,000 on virtual items for the Shanda-operated game "Legend of Mir 2" over the past six years.

He claims that 31 items -- including a "level 37 weapon" -- have mysteriously disappeared from his account over the past year.

The unique case will be heard in the Shanghai Pudong District People's Court.
