Los Angeles - Amazon.com (NASD: AMZN) plans to launch a streaming video service in the next few weeks, according to remarks made by chief executive Jeff Bezos at The Wall Street Journal's D: All Things Digital conference on Wednesday, Reuters reported.

In addition to selling DVDs and VHS tapes, Amazon also currently operates a service called Unbox that offers rental and purchase of TV show and movie downloads to computers or TiVo boxes.

Bezos did not provide any additional details on the service.
