Mountain View, Calif. - Skyfire, the developer of a mobile Web browser, announced on Wednesday a new $13 million second round of venture capital, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners.

Previous investors Matrix Partners and Trinity Ventures also participated.

Founded in 2006, Mountain View, Calif.-based Skyfire introduced its mobile Web browser, currently in private beta, at the DEMO conference in January.

The company claims its browser delivers the full PC version of sites like YouTube, Facebook and Last.fm to mobile phones "at record speeds."

Skyfire will put the new funds towards further rollout of its flagship browser.
