Authored by Mark Hefflinger on May 30, 2008 - 7:19am.

San Francisco - Grockit, a San Francisco-based start-up developing a massively multiplayer learning game, announced on Friday that it has raised $8 million in its second round of financing, led by Integral Capital Partners with participation from Benchmark Capital.

The company, which was co-founded by longtime teach Farbood Nivi and developer Michael Buffington, says it is creating a "MMOLG (Massively Multi Player Online Learning Game) where people can connect to learn from one another."

Grockit will use the funds to expand its development team as it works to launch its product in the fall.
