Los Angeles - Opposing Views, a site that aims to "give millions of people opposing views from experts on issues and questions they face every day," announced on Monday that it has raised a $1.25 million first round of venture capital financing, led by Frontera Group.

Other participants included company CEO Russell Fine -- who previously co-founded the horseracing wagering site YouBet.com, Applied Semantics co-founder Gil Elbaz, and other private investors.

Los Angeles-based Opposing Views said it will use the funds to bring its first 100 experts on board and launch its website, which will cover topics such as politics, health, personal finance and parenting, and feature contributions from the NRA, PETA and the Sierra Club.

The service will launch in beta this summer.
