San Jose, Calif. - Networking giant Cisco (NASD: CSCO) announced on Tuesday its acquisition of Denmark-based DiviTech, a maker of equipment used by media broadcasters, cable and IPTV service providers to manage and deliver digital video programming.

Financial terms of the deal, expected to close in July, were not disclosed.

San Jose, Calif.-based Cisco said that DiviTech's business will further enhance its video delivery strategy.

DiviTech's technology includes software that lets content providers centrally provision and easily delivery localized content, such as local and regional news and on-demand video and services, within a specific geography.
