San Francisco - Mobile marketing firm 5th Finger announced on Wednesday that it has raised $7 million in first round funding from Australia's Starfish Ventures.

The company was originally founded in 1999 in Sydney, Australia, where it was later acquired by ninemsn; 5th Finger is now established independently in North America, with headquarters in San Francisco.

The company provided all SMS, Web and interactive TV applications for the Live Earth concert series, and counts other clients including MSN Mobile, New Line Cinema and Amazon.com.

5th Finger will use the funds fund its ongoing growth in the U.S.
