Redwood City, Calif. - Online video advertising network YuMe on Monday announced a deal with Microsoft (NASD: MSFT), to compliment the company's existing video ad services by handling network management and sales for unsold inventory on Microsoft's online properties.

YuMe will sell Microsoft's excess video ad inventory as part of its network of channels -- such as news, sports and entertainment -- allowing advertisers to purchase by audience and content genre.

"In working with YuMe, we will further maximize the value of our unsold video inventory through YuMe's robust platform for video advertising network management," said Rob Bennett, general manager of MSN Entertainment, Video & Sports at Microsoft.

"YuMe offers the ability to connect additional ad networks to its platform, and we plan on utilizing this service to provide YuMe and other ad networks access to Microsoft's unsold video inventory."

YuMe also provides similar services for NBC.com.
