Seattle - Online retail giant Amazon.com (NASD: AMZN) on Tuesday began publicizing a pair of ongoing promotions that offer customers deeply discounted albums from its MP3 store.

The "Friday Five" promotion offers five albums for $5 every Friday, and through the weekend.

Artists offering back catalog albums through the promotion include the Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra, Linkin Park and Andrea Bocelli.

The "Daily Deals" offer this week will feature past albums from Coldplay, to promote the release of their new record "Viva la Vida," which will sell from the store for $8.99.

Today, the band's album "X&Y" is available for just $1.99, with other albums following on Wednesday and Thursday at $1.99, before "Brothers and Sisters" is offered on Friday for 99 cents.

Launched in September 2007, Amazon MP3 now offers a catalog of more than 5.4 million tracks, with most albums priced between $5.99 and $9.99.
