Waltham, Mass. - Navic Networks, a provider of audience measurement data and software for optimizing the delivery and placement of interactive TV ads, has been acquired by Microsoft (NASD: MSFT). While terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, TechCrunch pegged the purchase price at between $200 million and $300 million.

Massachusetts-based Navic has to date raised about $43 million in venture capital. The company's technology powers advertising and interactive television applications on over 35 million digital set-top boxes in North America.

Microsoft said that the acquisition of Navic will allow it to "facilitate enhanced digital advertising across online and offline environments."
