San Francisco - Seesmic, a developer of live video webcam communications technology, has raised $6 million in new funding, led by Omidyar Network and Wellington Partners, VentureBeat reported.

San Francisco-based Seesmic's platform is used on over 1,500 sites to allow users to post short videos on blogs, or clips to post in comments sections.

The company was founded by French Web entrepreneur Loic Le Meur, and previously raised $6 million in February, in a round led by Atomico that included participation from TechCrunch's Michael Arrington.
