Washington - Google's (NASD: GOOG) proposed online advertising partnership with Yahoo (NASD: YHOO) is drawing a good degree of scrutiny in Washington, where, along with the Senate Judiciary Committee -- which has already announced plans to hold a hearing on the deal -- four other Congressional committees in addition to the Justice Dept. are said to be examining different aspects, AdAge reported.

The Senate Commerce Committee, House Energy and Commerce Committee's Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection panel, and the House Small Business Committee have are among those who have said they will examine the deal.

"There are increasing concerns about data collection for online advertising practices across the popular websites and search engines, the sharing of information and the ability of users to control their personal information," an aide to U.S. Sen. Byron Dorgan, (D-N.D.), told AdAge regarding the Senate Commerce Committee hearing.

The Justice Department has also reportedly contacted various customers of Yahoo and Google, to seek their input on the potential impact of the deal in closed-door hearings.
