New York
- XM Satellite Radio (NASD: XMSR) announced on Thursday that it has settled a lawsuit
brought by EMI Music Publishing over the Pioneer Inno, a portable satellite
radio with advanced recording features.
Terms of the settlement agreement were
not disclosed.
EMI Music Publishing was party to a complaint filed by a number
of record labels and related companies in March 2007 over the Inno, which they
argued violated copyrights by allowing users to record and save MP3 versions of
songs played on the XM service.
XM has also settled Inno-related claims brought
by EMI, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group and Sony BMG.
