Social Games Developer Playfish Lands $1 Million

London - Playfish, a U.K.-based developer of games for social media, has raised a $1 million round of bridge financing from Accel Partners, VentureWire reported.

Founded in October 2007, Playfish says its products combine "the best elements of casual games, social networks, MMOGs and virtual worlds."

Its titles, available on sites including Facebook, include "Who Has The Biggest Brain?" and "Word Challenge."

In addition to its London headquarters, Playfish also has offices in Beijing and Tromso, Norway.

The company launched with $4 million from Accel Partners.
