New York - Digital advertising and entertainment network New Motion, Inc. (NASD: NWMO), which does business as Atrinsic, announced on Wednesday that it has acquired the assets of Ringtone.com, a mobile entertainment portal, for $6.25 million in cash.

New York-based Atrinsic, whose brands include Altnet, GatorArcade, Bid4Prizes and iMatchUp, said the deal will allow it to re-enter the $4 billion global ringtone space.

Minnesota-based Ringtone.com, a unit of W3i Holdings, expects to see earnings of $145 to $160 million in 2008 and earnings of $15 million to $20 million.

Atrinsic also said it expects to expand Ringtone.com from a solely subscription-based service -- the company counts 180,000 subscribers -- into other revenue streams, including an ad-supported model.
