GameStop Acquires New Zealand Retail Chain The Gamesman

Grapevine, Texas - GameStop, the world's largest video game retail store chain, announced on Wednesday that it will acquired The Gamesman, New Zealand's largest independent game retail chain.

Financial terms of the transaction, expected to close later this month, were not disclosed.

Texas-based GameStop said the deal would expand its presence in New Zealand to a total of 38 stores, and a total of 308 in Australia and New Zealand.

GameStop operates over 5,400 locations worldwide under its GameStop and EB Games brands.
