Paris - Monte Cristo Games, a Paris-based independent game developer, announced that it has raised about $7 million in new funding from Arts Alliance, 360 Capital Partners and Innoven Partenaires.

Founded in 1995, Monte Cristo has so far published 30 titles worldwide.

The company is currently in development on "CITIES XL," a new "next-generation city-building online game" that "merges video gaming with social networking and virtual worlds."
