Atomic Moguls Lands $1 Million for Fantasy Sports Games

Seattle - Atomic Moguls, a provider of fantasy sports leagues and related services, has raised about $1 million in new funding from Second Avenue Partners and other investors, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported.

Seattle-based Atomic Moguls plans to release 1,000 new fantasy sports game applications by Labor Day; its fantasy games count about 1.5 million users across social networks Facebook, MySpace, Bebo and Hi5.

"I sort of said ... 'if you were to invent fantasy (games) from scratch right now, what would it look like,'" Atomic Moguls founder Brenda Spoonemore told the Seattle P-I.

"And our answer to that was, since people are already on MySpace or Facebook talking about basketball or movies or whatever it is, why not take the game where people are already having that conversation with their friends."
