Stockholm, Sweden - Mobispine, a Sweden-based provider of news and content aggregation services for mobile devices, announced on Tuesday that it has acquired NewsAlloy, the provider of a free, Web-based news feed reader.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Mobispine said its service currently claims 300,000 monthly active mobile users, while NewsAlloy counts over 11,000; the combined company is aiming to reach a goal of 10 million users.

"By joining forces with NewsAlloy, we can offer speedy and simple access to RSS feeds on both the PC and mobile phone," said Mobispine CEO Dusyant Patel.

"We believe all RSS users will find this technology a welcome change from current offerings. It is so simple to use that everyone from Tweens to Pensioners/Seniors will get a kick out of it."
