New York - Viacom's (NYSE: VIA) MTV on Wednesday introduced a website that will allow viewers to identify the roughly 1,500 music cues -- outside of music videos or performances -- that are integrated into its programming each week.

The Soundtrack.mtv.com interactive music guide will provide the song title, artist and album information from all music heard on MTV, and will soon offer the ability to purchase songs from RealNetworks' (NASD: RNWK) Rhapsody service.

The site will also provide emerging artists the ability to create Soundtrack profile pages, where they can stream music and promote themselves to MTV music supervisors looking to place new music within the network's on-air programming.
