London - Player X, a distributor of mobile entertainment content including games, video and TV, announced on Thursday that it has acquired Spain-based mobile game developer Gaelco Moviles.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Player X has deals to distribute content through over 140 mobile operators, while Gaelco titles are currently offered in Southern Europe through operators including Telefonica, Vodafone, TMN, Optimus and Bouygues Telecom.

"This is the first in a raft of significant strategic moves for Player X and underscores our confidence in the health of the mobile games industry. Our acquisition of Gaelco means we will dramatically increase our distribution in Southern Europe and opens up another gateway into Latin America," said Player X CEO Tony Pearce.
